Feelin' the Flare

By - No comments:

I am in the market for some 70's bell bottom inspired jeans. I can't quite decide if I want a pair with a high waist, trouser details or something more true to the original that tapers at the knee with a big flare at the cuff. I really like the look and it is a welcomed break from all the skinnies we've been wearing for years now. Are you all feelin' the flare these days, and if so, what style are you leaning towards?

I was catching up on some of my favorite blogs yesterday and I came across the 50 Most Stylish New Yorkers piece from Style Caster on Happenstance. There are some amazing photos...you should definitely check out the article. Here is a pic of Miss Olivia P. Does the girl ever get it wrong?

Prego Street Style

By - No comments:

I have had pregnancy style on the brain lately as I have just completed the first trimester of my first pregnancy. That's right...I am officially pregnant! This might explain the sporadic blog posts over the past couple months because, frankly, I have felt like total crap. I'm told I will be emerging from this fog soon and I couldn't be more happy about it. So, look forward to more consistent and diverse blog posts soon. I started this blog as a creative outlet to express what has currently caught my eye in design, travel, fashion or just what is generally going on in my life. It won't turn into a mommy blog, but there will definitely be more content related to the topic. Thank you all of your support! xx

Jumping on the Bandwagon

By - No comments:
I have seen countless "blog crush" posts in the past month about the new blog The Coveteur. I am happy to report that I will be jumping on that bandwagon too! There is nothing more exciting than getting a sneak peak into the closet of someone you admire or aspire to be like, and The Coveteur gives you just that. The eye candy is just endless. If you haven't added this one to your list of daily's yet, do it now. You won't regret it! Here is a tiny sampling of Mary Kate Steinmiller's closet...

ALC Resort

By - No comments:
I have long been a big fan of ALC. They do basic with a twist better than any brand, and I love the quality of their craftsmanship and materials. The ALC Resort 2011 collection is filled with some gorgeous pieces that would easily incorporate into any wardrobe. The collection is characterized by beautiful draping, lots of layers and sumptuous sheer fabrics. Here are a couple looks that I can't get enough of...

Fashion: Pattern Mixing

By - No comments:

I love the mixture of patterns and textures in this ensemble by Rachel Roy. I also can't get enough of the longer hemlines. After the last few years of having to wear everything as a tunic or with tights (micro minis aren't a good look on me) it is a refreshing shift. The whole look is very ladylike and stylish.

Natural & Textured

By - No comments:

Well, the holiday break is over and it is onward and upward into 2011. I came across the beautiful image in the upper left hand corner sometime ago and I instantly fell in love with it. I love the natural elements and colors with the pop of gold and glimmer of crystal. Everything in this image also has a lovely texture whether it be faceted, engraved, inlaid or the soft surface of the hydrangea petal. I have several weddings to go to early in the year, so of course I am already figuring out what I want to wear. I am always drawn to colors you find in nature and I love the little extra details that a ruffle or pleat can add to an outfit. Above are a few picks that I think will make for an adorable wedding ensemble. I have a pair of nude pumps and I'm thinking I will add a little fur jacket/stole for the wedding back east in February...brrr.

Fashion: Cynthia Smith

Cynthia Smith, a Vogue fashion assistant, chronicled her first Paris Fashion Week experience on Vogue.com. Isn't she adorable...not to mention her style is ridiculously chic. That outfit above is beyond. Ankle socks with leopard print Louboutins and a girly black and white patterned skirt? Yes, please! Check out her picture travel diary *here*.
